Introducing Kenworthy’s Chambers New Family Barrister Sonia Parveen

A new Family Barrister, Sonia Parveen, has joined Kenworthy’s Chambers to work with our growing Family Team, offering representation and advice for mothers, fathers, and children before any UK court.

Sonia Parveen joins Kenworthy’s Chambers with over 10 years of experience dealing with all matters relating to Family Law and has particular expertise in advising on domestic violence or personal protection Family Law Act matters, as well as public and private law Children Act matters.

She will be supporting the efforts of Kenworthy’s Family Team, taking instructions in a wide range of Family Law cases, including applications for Emergency Protection Orders, Interim Care Orders, Deprivation of Liberty and Safeguard Orders, Secure Accommodation Orders, and Forced Marriage Protection Orders.

Practice Manager Maria Rushworth commented on the new appointment, saying, “We are pleased to be supporting Sonia with her transition from working as a Solicitor into her new, self-employed, position at the bar.”

Transferring Solicitor, Sonia Parveen, who qualified as a Solicitor Advocate after undertaking the Higher Rights Course, will receive mentoring from experienced Family Barristers Janet Cragg and Carol Micah.

Maria Rushworth added, “The approach that Sonia adopts towards clients is both sensitive and compassionate, which will help Family Law clients who can feel vulnerable when they approach us for advice.”

Speaking about her new role at Kenworthy’s Chambers, Sonia Parveen said, “I am so pleased to be bolstering the Family Law Team and to join a set that is famed for its diversity and inclusion.

“I hope to use my experience in representing clients who have mental health issues or lack capacity because I am passionate about working with vulnerable clients in complex cases.”
