Drafting Witness Statements in Serious Injury Cases

Online Seminar | September 19, 2023 | 4:00 PM

Kenworthy’s Chambers is pleased to announce ‘Drafting Witness Statements in Serious Injury Cases’, an online seminar that will take place on 19/09/23 from 4pm - 5pm. The second in Kenworthy’s Chambers Autumn series of CPD lectures for Personal Injury Solicitors, ‘Drafting Witness Statements in Serious Injury Cases’ will be hosted by Personal Injury Barrister Haroon Rashid.

This seminar will look at how to draft witness statements, examine what should be covered under each head and provide attendees with guidance on building the evidence needed to support complex schedules.

Witness statements are the single most important document in serious injury cases. They require a carefully crafted statement that clearly sets out the claimant’s losses and also tells a compelling story that will gain the courts’ sympathies.

The seminar will teach Personal Injury Lawyers how to methodically work through each head of loss in serious injury cases, and detail the documents needed in support of general damages.

Haroon Rashid will cover what can potentially be claimed in loss of earnings and list all the documents you need to support general damages. He will also cover an interesting case where no serious offer was made but after a complete statement settled for over £250k!

This seminar is aimed at Serious Injury Practitioners who want to perfect how to draft witness statements. Due to popular demand, there will be opportunities to ask questions.

You can book your place on the hour-long seminar ‘Drafting Witness Statements in Serious Injury Cases’ by filling out the form at the bottom of this page.

Haroon Rashid is a leading Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence Barrister who has a specialist practice focused on serious injury, clinical negligence, and industrial disease.

Ranjha Law Chambers praised his work saying: “I have found Haroon Rashid to be a very impressive, thorough, outstanding professional. He is very intelligent and deals with matters methodically and strategically, having the ability to plan, build, make, remake and break cases. He fights for his clients vigorously to the very end.”

Speaking about Haroon Rashid’s previous seminar Kenneth Lees of Curtis Law said: “Thank you, it was a very helpful seminar.”
