Submission of No Case to Answer Successes for Patrick Williamson & Robert Lassey

Kenworthy's Chambers | October 3, 2017

Patrick Williamson and Robert Lassey both successfully acquitted their clients in the magistrates' court last week by dismissing their cases using submissions of no case to answer.

Criminal Barrister Patrick Williamson defended a woman accused of theft at Warrington Magistrates court; she was alleged to have stolen from the University of Chester.

Robert Lassey defended a man at Derby Magistrates' Court charged with three counts of assault and one count of criminal damage; he was alleged to have become involved in a large fight with a group of people, subsequently causing damage to a door.

The prosecution had five witnesses appearing in court who witnessed the assaults and criminal damage, whereas the defendant's alibi witness failed to attend court.

Despite the crown's overwhelming evidence, Robert secured an acquittal for his client.

Patrick Williamson is an experienced Criminal Barrister at Kenworthy’s Chambers who specialises in Criminal Law, Inquests and Regulatory work.
