What is a Master of the Bench?

"Masters of the Bench", otherwise known as "Benchers ", are senior members of an Inn of Court in England and Wales responsible for the organisation and running of the Inn.

A "Master of the Bench" is elected in recognition of the contribution that the Barrister has made to the life of the Inn or to the Law.
