Kenworthy’s Chambers Shuffleboard Social
After a week of answering enquiries, managing diaries, and diligently completing administrative tasks, Kenworthy’s Chambers’ Clerking Team walked a short way over Albert Square, from the new Victoria Buildings offices, in the heart of Manchester, on Princess Street, to Deansgate to play some shuffleboard!
The
destination for this team-building social was Electric Shuffle – a cocktail bar
and kitchen with several shuffleboards.
Shuffleboard
is a bar game centred around precision. To play the game, you slide
weighted pucks down the long, smooth table, aiming to land them in the scoring
zones at the opposite end, which increase in value the further away they are.
You can play as individuals or in teams, and one of the benefits of playing on the tables at Electric Shuffle is that they have automated scoring.
It was no time at all before drinks were flowing and the Clerks and Administrative Staff were pushing pucks down the table, getting the feel for the power (or lack of!) required to finish in the scoring zone.
Lots of laughs were had, and some amazing measured plays were pushed Civil Clerk Alessandro Saporita-Clark, Administrative Clerk Matthew Thomas, and Fees Collection Clerk Kishan Patel, before some delicious pizza was ordered and promptly devoured.
A clear leader emerged from the competition, with nobody able to match Senior Criminal Clerk Paul Mander for accuracy on the shuffleboard table, despite Paul’s fellow Criminal Clerk Greg Highton insisting that Matt would’ve beaten him if it went to extra-time!

Speaking about the social, event organiser, and Immigration Clerk, Daniella Howarth said, “It was a really fun game. I had never done shuffleboard before, but I would definitely do it again!
“It brought out everyone’s competitiveness. It was good to get out with the team and catch up outside of work.”
Well done to everyone who played, and special thanks to Daniella Howarth for organising such a fun evening for everyone to enjoy.
Leading legal directory Legal 500 says, “Instructing counsel at Kenworthy's Chambers is made very easy because of the efficiency of the clerks.” Contact our amazing team of Clerks by calling 0161 832 4036.
