Paul Im Thurn read law at Worcester College, Oxford, before being admitted as a Solicitor in 1990.

He spent five years as a Solicitor in a large city firm before devoting 20 years to Social Welfare Law in various law centres. He served as the Co-Chair of Law Centres Network for three years before transferring to The Bar in 2012. Paul Im Thurn predominantly practices Family Law, both public and private. He was shortlisted for the Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year Awards 2013.
