Handling Clinical Negligence Claims Seminar

Online Seminar | October 19, 2022 | 4:00 PM

The next seminar in our popular series of Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence presentations by Barrister Haroon Rashid is 'Handling Clinical Negligence Claims'.

'Handling Clinical Negligence Claims' is an online seminar that will take place on 19/10/22 from 4pm - 5pm. Please book your place by filling out the form at the bottom of this page.

This seminar is aimed at Personal Injury Solicitors who handle Clinical Negligence claims. As usual, there will be an opportunity to ask Haroon questions at the end of the presentation.

The 'Handling Clinical Negligence Claims' seminar will provide attendees with a brief history of how causation has been judged over time. Haroon will spotlight the cases that changed how we make decisions on whether a Doctor has acted negligently or not.

You will discover the fundamental principles that were laid in 1957 in the case of Bolam v Friern Hospital Management Committee and learn about the impact that Joyce v Wandsborough Health Authority had in 1996.

Haroon will guide you through the complications that can arise from assessing quantum in medical negligence cases and explain the practical difficulties that claimants are likely to encounter when considering a Clinical Negligence claim.

Finally, the 'Handling Clinical Negligence Claims' seminar will explore how claims can be dismissed if claimants are found to be 'fundamentally dishonest' by examining Section 57 of the Criminal Justice and Courts Act 2015.

Personal Injury Barrister Haroon Rashid has over 20 years of experience working in the field of Clinical Negligence, handling cases that have centered around late diagnosis, misdiagnosis, poor operational techniques, inappropriate discharges, and surgical damage.

Ajmal Hussain from AGH Solicitors praised Haroon Rashid's previous seminar 'Dealing with allegations of fraud in RTA Cases' saying: 'Thank you Haroon, this seminar was a great reminder to concentrate and get the basic, yet essential, points resolved from early on in every claim.'

The last day for registration is Tuesday 18th October and invites to this virtual seminar will be sent via email on Wednesday 19th October.
