Simon's practice covers both criminal defence and prosecution as well as civil actions against the Police. 

With his background as a solicitor, Simon brings a very practical and client-focused approach to his practice at the Bar.

Experience:

 Simon was called to the Bar in March 2011, having previously qualified as a solicitor in 1997 practising in London and Manchester. He qualified as a solicitor advocate in 2003 and became a partner at Platt Halpern Solicitors in 2005. Simon has for many years represented as an advocate for clients charged with serious crime including rape, murder and serious fraud.

Lecture experience:

Simon currently delivers regular training on interview courses to police forces throughout the country including the Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Cheshire, Lancashire, North Wales, and Devon and Cornwall Forces. Simon also lectured in advanced criminal litigation on the Legal Practice Course at the Manchester Metropolitan University. He also delivers seminars and lecture sessions to other lawyers on various legal topics.
