Julie-Anne Luck was called to the bar in July 2006, having previously practised as a solicitor with Berrymans Lace Mawer for 12 years, where she was made a partner in April 2002. She is an accredited ADR mediator & her practice at the bar covers civil litigation, in particular personal injury, contractual disputes & property damage claims. Julie-Anne was awarded the title of 'Kenworthy's Young Barrister of the Year (2007)'.

Civil practice:

Julie-Anne deals with personal injury claims and is experienced in acting for both defendants & claimants. She regularly advises on liability, quantum and tactics, drafts pleadings and provides representation at court. Her practice covers employers liability (including workplace, manual handling and equipment claims), occupiers liability, highways & road traffic accident claims. As a solicitor, Julie-Anne assisted in successful proceedings for a child who was seriously brain-damaged following a swimming accident whilst on holiday in Spain.
Julie-Anne has acted for insurers and private clients in a diverse range of disputes involving negligence, nuisance and breach of contract. She has dealt with numerous cases involving property damage (fire, flood & subsidence damage) arising from defective products (consumer/electrical products), the negligent work of contractors and neighbour/tree root nuisance. Acting for insurance companies, she has advised upon policy wording and policy issues, for example material non-disclosure and misrepresentation.

Lecture experience:

Julie-Anne Luck is available to present seminars & training on request. With her enthusiatic approach she is able to provide straightforward explanation of complex areas of the law. Past seminars include occupiers liability, drafting schedules of special damages, liability for damage caused by animals, product liability, interpretation of insurance policies, insurance law & fraud/misinterpretation, environmental liabilities & nuisance.
