Experience:
Patrick Cassidy & Barry Grennan, for the second year, have been assessed by Chambers and Partners 2010 as Leaders at the Criminal Bar. Patrick Cassidy & Barry Grennan are described "as doing criminal work at the highest level: they are highly experienced juniors, very conscientious, hard-working and always provide good client care."
With more than 25 years experience as a Defence Criminal Advocate, Patrick is regularly instructed in cases of the most serious crime, often as a leading junior.
He is seen as an Advocate with good judgement, excellent client and jury skills and is committed to publically funded Criminal Law work.

Criminal practice:
The marketplace recognises Patrick Cassidy as a Defence Criminal Advocate with experience and flair in jury cases of national prominence and seriousness.
The range of case also makes him unique, running as it does from inner city gun crime to civil actions against the police/police misconduct to Article 2 inquests in deaths in custody cases. The common theme is the presence of the jury and his inclination to support the less powerful.
He has a burgeoning Inquest and Health and Safety practice and along with Alan Wilson has been recruited by BPP to run their Inquest and Health and Safety Criminal law Courses.
A review of the cases he has been involved in reflects the changing social and racial landscape of the North West over the last 25 years of practice his interest in cases in which the citizen encounters the power of the state whether it be the Miners, Printers, Animal rights Activists or the Asian communities of Oldham or Burnley.
More serious criminal work in gangland urban crime has reinforced his desire to live in a fairer society.
He is a governor of a Secondary school and manager of a u16s football team.

Lecture experience:
Patrick commenced the Kenworthy's lecture series in 1997 which continues annually to date and is passionate that Kenworthy's develop a first class professional development culture.
He is a member of the Criminal Bar Association and the pilot Victim Advocacy Project in Murder and Manslaughter cases.
