Experience:
Alan Wilson qualified as a solicitor in 1994. He spent 6 years working for a national trade union law firm, with responsibility for Criminal law work and Inquests. He specialised in representing workers facing criminal allegations connected to their employment, and those who may be summonsed to appear before a Coroner at an inquest facing potential criticism in relation to their performance at work. Alan transferred to the Bar in 2005.
Criminal practice:
Alan was appointed Assistant Deputy Coroner for Liverpool in June 2009.
During his time at Kenworthy's Chambers, he has regularly appeared in the Coroner's Courts on behalf of bereaved families, and represented workers from a range of professions, including teachers, civilian police staff, care home employees and medical staff. He has considerable experience in appearing at jury inquests, including deaths in custody and hospital fatalities.
Lecture experience:
Alan lectures on Inquests and on Health and Safety law issues as part of a regular lecture series run by Kenworthy's Chambers in conjunction with the University of Salford. He also lectures on Inquests for the legal training provider, BPP.
