The mental health crime team have significant experience both appealing convictions on the basis of misdiagnosis of mental health condition at trial and/or suppression of mental health disturbance at trial, as well as numerous cases involving defences of insanity and/or diminished responsibility. This team has developed excellent working relationships with a team of psychiatrists in the North West, and regularly provide training for psychiatrists as to how to give evidence in court.
