Robert Lassey

  • Year of call: 2016

Rob joined Chambers in September 2017 after completing a 12-month Common Law Pupillage supervised by Anisa Niaz-Dickinson.

During his pupillage, Rob developed his practice in Criminal and Employment law, with a particular interest in the crossover between these fields. As such, he is keen to build his practice further in those areas.

Prior to commencing pupillage and alongside his studies at university, Rob was involved with a number of community-based fund-raising and volunteering endeavours, successful in raising over £100,000 for local causes. Consequently, Rob hopes to maintain these links to the volunteering sector over the course of his career.

During his year on the Bar Professional Training Course, Rob won several advocacy-based competitions, and was assessed as "Outstanding" in the following modules:

• Advocacy 1 (Submissions)
• Advocacy 2 (Examination-in-Chief)
• Advocacy 3 (Cross-Examination)
• Conference
• Immigration

• BA (Hons) History and French (University of Lancaster)
• GDL (BPP Law School, Leeds)
• BPTC (BPP Law School, Leeds) - Very Competent (82.5%)

• Lincoln's Inn Megarry Scholarship
• BPP Law School Regional Advocacy Scholarship

Interests outside the law:

Rob is a keen actor, having been involved with a local charity Youth Theatre group for over ten years, where he is currently a Trustee. He also enjoys long countryside walks with his Golden Labrador, and is currently (slowly) learning to play the piano.
