Craig joined chambers in October 2015 on a 12 month pupillage supervised by Mark Schwenk. Before starting pupillage Craig worked as a caseworker at Greater Manchester Immigration Aid Unit, giving him a wide variety of experience in immigration, asylum and nationality matters. As such, Craig has a particular specialism and interest in immigration, asylum and nationality law.

As part of his pupillage Craig also accepts instructions in criminal law matters, and is keen to develop his practice in this area. Craig has a particular interest in the crossover between immigration and criminal law, and in immigration related offences generally.
Craig further advises on and assists with drafting exceptional funding applications to the legal aid agency on cases for which public funding is no longer available, and a number of the applications Craig has prepared have been successful.

Following his past experience in the voluntary sector, with the Greater Manchester Immigration Aid Unit, as a volunteer at a local law centre and as a volunteer advocate, Craig is keen to maintain the links he has developed with voluntary sector organisations. As such, he is a trustee of a local advice agency, holding a seat on the management committee, and is a strong believer in the right to publically funded legal advice.
